WHO WE ARE
Family Centers is a private, nonprofit organization offering education, health and human services to children, adults and families in Fairfield County. More than 300 professionals and hundreds of trained volunteers work together to provide our communities with a wide range of responsive and innovative services. Our multi-faceted network of health, education and human service programs give individuals and families the tools needed to establish a strong educational foundation, overcome complex and critical problems, carry on healthy productive lives and achieve personal improvement.

To accommodate its continued growth, Family Centers has announced the purchase of a building at 986 Bedford Street in Stamford. Situated in the heart of downtown and convenient to public transportation, the new location makes the organization’s services more accessible for the city’s children, adults and families.
The Center for HOPE is pleased to welcome resilience and grief expert Marisa Renee Lee as the speaker for its 2024 Annual Luncheon on Thursday, September 19 at 11:30 a.m. at Wee Burn Beach Club. In her award-winning book, “Grief is Love: Living with Loss,” Marisa shares advice on how to navigate the loss of a loved one on your terms and debunks the idea of grief as stages or timelines.
On June 30, Family Centers presented the 2024 Janet Hennessey Dilenschneider Excellence in Leadership Awards to Melissa Schreff, Senior Director of Quality, Compliance & Analytics and Jim Vivier, Chief Operating Officer. The ceremony took place at the Darien home of Jan Dilenschneider and her husband, Bob.
All gifts made to Family Centers are 100% tax deductible and directly assist local children, families and individuals.
