Family Centers University "Alums" Return to Campus for Homecoming Bash
More than 250 "co-eds" took to the campus of Family Centers University June 5 for a Homecoming Bash unlike any other.
Held at the Greenwich home of Nonie and John Sullivan, Family Centers' annual benefit created a unique scholastic experience that combined one part Ivy League elegance with one part Big Ten tradition, with a dash of "Animal House" spice thrown into the mix. The event raised more than $535,000 for Family Centers' 30 education and human service programs.
Attendees enjoyed a home-style meal in "The Café" and reconnected with old classmates in FCU's "Alumni Hall." After dinner, folks worked off the "freshman fifteen" by dancing up a storm to the live music of local favorites The Missing Links and sat in for a round of cards with the brothers of Delta house. To add extra atmosphere, guests mingled with a toga-clad John Belushi look-alike and University mascot, Bucky the Goat.
Bob Arnold, President of Family Centers and "Dean" of Family Centers University, and Marge Berkley, Chairman of Family Centers' Board of Directors and "Chairman of the FCU Board of Trustees " also bestowed honorary doctorates in "Partyology" to the events' co-chairs Allison Bourke, Abby Bowers, Alice Holbrook, Charlotte Minor and Terri Walker. Nonie and John Sullivan also received an honorary doctorate in "Hostology".
