Casserley, Bishop-Pullan Honored for Volunteer Efforts
At its 132nd Annual Meeting, Family Centers honored two volunteers whose contributions improved the lives of thousands of children and families across Fairfield County.
Longtime Family Centers Board member and past Board Chair Nancy Casserley was presented with the 2023 Helen Gratz Rockefeller Outstanding Volunteerism Award. Traditionally reserved for a current or former member of Family Centers’ Board of Trustees, the award is the agency’s highest volunteer honor.
Since joining the Board in 2015, Nancy has been a collaborative, forward-thinking leader who helped facilitate several key organizational initiatives. During her time as Board Chair, her thoughtful guidance was a beacon of light that helped Family Centers emerge from the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. Always with an eye to the future, Nancy was also instrumental in launching the agency's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) work, influenced programmatic growth and cultivated a new generation of philanthropists.

In her current role, she leads with a strong commitment to care and had spearheaded several new initiatives in Stamford that target youth mental health, prenatal health, suicide and untimely death. In recognition of Jody's continued commitment to local families, Family Centers named her its 2023 Anne Firestone Ball Family Champion.
