Family Centers Early Care and Education Program Receives NAEYC’s Highest Distinction

Family Centers' Early Care and Education program (ECE) has achieved Accreditation Plus from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)—a prestigious distinction held by fewer than 10% of early childhood programs nationwide.

NAEYC Accreditation Plus represents the highest level of recognition for early childhood programs and signals excellence in areas including curriculum, teaching practices, health and safety, family partnerships and program leadership. It also reflects a commitment to continuous quality improvement through verified engagement with ongoing assessment and enhancement.

"This recognition confirms what our families and educators know—that Family Centers is a place where young children thrive," said Yenny Toone, Vice President. "We are honored to be recognized for the quality, care and intentionality that defines our classrooms, and we will continue in our unwavering commitment to preparing children for lifelong success."

To earn Accreditation Plus, Family Centers underwent a rigorous review process involving site visits, detailed documentation and comprehensive assessments aligned with NAEYC's 10 Early Learning Program Standards. Achieving this distinction requires meeting not only foundational quality benchmarks, but also demonstrating excellence in implementing feedback, professional development and data-driven program growth.

Family Centers' ECE program provides full-day, year-round preschool and infant/toddler care for children from ages six weeks to five years at four sites in Greenwich—The Armstrong Court Preschool, The Gateway Preschool, The Grauer Preschool and the Joan Melber Warburg Early Childhood Center.
