The Den for Grieving Kids

A free, group bereavement program for children, teens, and families coping with the death of a loved one due to illness, accident, suicide, or violence. Based on the Dougy Center Model, considered the gold standard of practice in the field of grief and loss, we honor grief as a natural, non-linear process and emphasize healing through caring and acceptance.
Groups are held twice monthly at our Arch Street office in Greenwich, with children grouped by age and parents or caregivers meeting separately. Sessions are led by Den-trained peer volunteers with lived experience.
The Den also partners with local schools to offer on-site, school-day group meetings for grieving students in Stamford and Norwalk public schools.
